Jaidy Growth

Jaid is growing so fast. I feel horrible that I haven't done a better job of recording her growth and development. I stopped taking pics in the chair after 4 months. Life just got crazy and I say I'm going to do it and then all of a sudden another month has gone by. She's is growing up so fast.

3 Months

Jaid - One Month

So this is really her at 1 month 2 weeks after her growth spurt.

Two Weeks - Weight - 6 lbs 12 oz - 11% - Height - 19.5 in - 20%

Two Weeks 4 days - back to 7 lbs 3 oz 

One Month - 8 lbs

Miss Jaid, 

I can't believe that you are already a month old. For the last month I could probably sum you up in two words - great sleeper. You probably slept most of the month and ate the rest of the time. It isn't a bad thing, it's what newborns are supposed to do. You are just plain too easy. You never cry but boy are you a grunter. Any movement, either in your tummy or by us you grunt. You have the most explosive poops I've ever heard and you normally poop at every feeding like clock work. Nursing you has been a breeze. Way easier than with your brothers. You latch on great and suck so hard which did hurt for the first few weeks but it's getting better.

You love to be swaddled but your hands have to be by your face. I constantly have to make sure you have mittens on since you attack your face. It's very rare when we see you sleeping with your arms up in the air. You are also so strong. Getting you dressed or bathing you is quite hard sometimes. We try to pull your arms but you just pull back. You also hold up your neck so well and have been from the time you were born.

You are getting spoiled by everyone around you and rarely get put down. Your favorite place though is on our chest. You are such a cuddly little thing. 

You are on a pretty good schedule. You eat every 3 to 4 hours during the day and will go as long as 6 hour stretches at night. Amazing! Sometimes we get so nervous when you haven't woken up to eat. You have the cutest stretch routine when you wake up. It usually lasts about 3 minutes and you grunt the whole time.

You are just a petite little thing. Newborn clothes have been big on you from the beginning and still are. We love looking at your big blue eyes. Even though Daddy would argue with me that they aren't blue but they are. You have so much dark hair in the back and way less on top. I kinda hope that it'll stay dark and not go blonde like your brothers. 

The first two weeks of your life I just held you. I have been loving every minute of just being able to hold you and stare at you. I still can't believe you are here and that you are mine. Your brothers adore you and are already protective of you. You are such a sweet little baby and we just love you so much.

Sometimes I just wish you would stay this size forever but I know watching you grow and develop will be so fun. We're excited to watch your personality come out and record all of your milestones.

Twins Update

The boys are going to be 3 years old in 1 month and I can't believe it. They turn 3 and two days later baby girl comes. I don't think it's really hit us that we are going to be a family of 5 soon. Hold on tight!

The boys have always been great talkers. They pretty much say everything and I try to teach them new words weekly. Cody sometimes looks at me like I'm crazy teaching them certain words like they are too young but they get them all. It's amazing.

Here are some funny phrases they've been saying lately:

• I was telling them that when we got home we were going to make a sandwich and then take a nap. Trey responded with, "You've got to be kidding me!"
• They love to say, "What the heck."
• Carter comes up to me and says, "I've had a hard day." haha
• Carter - "Mom, come give me a kiss. I need to go to the building and go to work. I don't want to make you sad." 
• I started walking to the kitchen and Carter yelled out, "Mom, you hungry again!" oh man
• "Mustard, don't less be silly"
• "Are you funky?"
• Carter was running away from Trey and Trey ran up and said, "RARRR... I'm a dinosaur." and than bit Carter on the shoulder. I immediately went to stop this little game and when talking to Trey about not biting people he said, "But I'm a dinosaur and I eat meat!" oh boy
• I always call Trey my little rabbit because he loves veggies and will eat all his veggies before anything else on his plate. I was eating carrots and said, "Trey you're a rabbit, you love carrots." and he replied, "I'm not a rabbit, I'm just Trey that likes carrots."
• Trey, "Daddy can I have an Oreo, because I love you!" 
• Trey, "Carter, you're a genius."
•  

We've gone through some big transitions and man I'm glad they are over. Well almost.

The binky fairy came in the middle of the night back in February and took all the binkies to babies at the hospitals around the world. The boys responded pretty well to this and we have rough 3 nights but we are through it and hopefully they wont freak out when baby girl has a binky.

No binkies mean no easy naps. I have to separate them now to have "quiet time" so they will fall asleep.

We took the front of their cribs off and they now sleep in toddler beds. We are getting them ready for bunk beds since I need one of the cribs for baby girl. They did pretty good the first night but wouldn't stay in their room so we had to put a child lock on the door knob and they sleep just fine now. Phew 

We're still struggling with potty training. They do pee great but poo is a whole other issue. We don't know what to do sometimes. It is so frustrating. It doesn't help that they get so constipated.

Some randoms about the boys:

• Are best of friends. Trey calls Carter his best friend and they give each other hugs daily.
• Are so excited for baby sister. They touch my belly and talk to her. 
• Know their full names and birthday
• Love the normal boy things - trains, cars, planes, trucks, and guns.
• Love FHE games like, hide and seek, london bridges, guess the animal, and don't eat pete.
• Do great at FHE and will sit and listen to the lesson for about 10 minutes.
• Love to talk and read about Jesus and Heavenly Father and love to say prayers. 
• Absolutely love nursery and are so upset when they are sick and can't go.
• Favorite tv shows - Word World, Sesame Street, Super Why, and Curious George.
• Can count to twenty, knows all their colors and shapes. 
• Recently realized that out world is made of shapes and loves to point them all out.
• Love to play pretend. They pretend to go to work like daddy or play mommy and daddy and baby.
• Love going to church and love being around Daddy and the scouts. 
• Know that when they turn 8 they will be baptized and can't wait to be a boy scout and go to the temple.
• We found them asleep in each others bed the other night. It was so cute. Also, one night Trey was scared so we asked him if Carter in his bed would help and it did. So cute! 
• Have to wear their sunglasses whenever in the car. Even if it's not sunny. 

 Some individual things about the boys:

Carter:

• Favorites foods are pizza, eggs, ham, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, anything bread, absolutely loves toast, yogurt, and apples and peanut butter. Oh and everything goes in ketchup. 
• Oh and he's made of cheese... he just always wants cheese. 
• Needs lots of physical touch and attention. He can't really play alone and needs Trey or me to keep him busy.
• Loves Toy Story and Bugs Life
• Still has to wear pullups at night. He'll be dry in the morning randomly.
• Loves FHE and asks to have FHE about daily.
• Loves to be in the kitchen with me and help me cook.
• So aggressive and emotional but can be the sweetest little boy a second later. He's a roller coaster. 
• Opinionated about everything. Where we go, which way a store is, and what he eats. 
• Wants to do everything himself.
• So animated. His facial expressions and hand movements are the best.
• Rarely eats and sometimes it's a fight to get him to sit still long enough to eat a whole meal.
• Pushes everything to the edge. He likes to see how much he can manipulate his world to get what he wants.
• Is a leader in every way and will tell anyone what to do.

Trey:

• Will eat pretty much anything but he would eat mac n cheese everyday if I let him. He loves veggies and fruits and spicy things. He loves to dip his food in ketchup, salsa, ranch, cafe rio dressing, and anything I will give him.
• Can play independent for hours.
• Obsessed with Lightning McQueen. He has to have a little car with him at all times. Lightning has just become part of the family.
• Wears underwear to bed and is always dry in the morning. 
• Loves to sing. He has a great memory and knows so many songs.
• Stubborn little guy when he doesn't want to do something and does not do well with time out.
• Plays the victim well.
• Amazing memory. He can recall things months and months in the past and tell you all the details.
• Is taller and weighs more than Carter but feels lighter. 
• Eats like crazy and would drink all his meals if he could. Loves OJ the most.
• So mellow and goes with the flow really well.
• Is so observant of his world and what people say in certain situations. For example, when you take him potty in the morning he knows that I'm going to praise him for staying dry so he'll say, "Say thanks for staying dry Trey." He  will do that for tons of other situations.
• Scared of monsters, dinosaurs, and other scary characters. We have to remind him that they aren't real. They are fake. 
• Talks nonstop
• Thinks it's only time to go to sleep when it's dark outside. 
• Has found a new love for pestering Carter. He loves the reactions he gets out of Carter. It makes car rides oh so fun. 

22 Months

I can't believe in two short months my little boys will be 2!!! 2 years old seems crazy to me and I have TWO 2 year olds. What did I get myself into? haha

Future Missionaries - Cody added the little tags, so cute! 

I haven't written in a long time it seems about what the boys are doing developmentally and how their personalities are showing through. So, here we go!

TREY: Is such a softy and get his feelings hurt easily. He can be so serious sometimes and really study an object or a surrounding. He is slower to warm up around people and has a few favorite buddies where he lights up when they come around. In fact, when the doorbell rings, he immediately runs and yells Leia!!

Trey is so silly and plays pretend often. He talks non stop and loves to repeat everything you say. He answers yes by saying "okay" and often tells you "I'm excited" about something. When he gets excited he usually stomps his feet really fast and waves his arms and has the biggest grin. He also likes to tell us that "I cute" and then will point to himself. He will also tell you when someone else or something is cute.

He talks in full sentences now and a few are, "I want chicken", "I'm sorry mommy", "fruit snack please mommy", "I don't want it", "I don't like it", "There you are", "I found you mommy", and tons more. I can't believe at how much they are talking.

Trey is my easy going kid. He is calm and usually pretty good about being quiet in public and rarely throws fits or tantrums.  He'll eat pretty much everything and loves spicy food. He loves cereal and peas and grapes the most.

Trey knows the majority of the alphabet and loves to point out letters and tell you which one it is. If you are wearing any clothing with letters on it be prepared to have him tell you every letter on your clothing. Trey can count to 6 and loves to count over and over again. Especially when he is tired and trying to keep himself awake.

Trey is amazing with my iphone. He can play most of the games I have downloaded for him but even cooler is that he knows how to get to the exact game he wants by himself. He is just a smart kid and amazes us each day. 

 

CARTER: Carter is emotional!! Oh boy is he ever. He has so much spunk in him that when he doesn't get his way he just lets it all out. He is a very stubborn little boy and wants his way every time. He will tell you exactly what he wants to eat and do and will even try and make you do what he wants by pulling, pushing, and positioning you how he wants.  When he gets mad, he takes it out on his brother. We've already started time outs and he knows what he is doing is wrong but negative attention is still attention to Carter.

He is such a smily boy and so out going. He will run off and never look back so we have to watch him very carefully! He loves to explore everything and loves  being outside. He will say hi to everyone walking by and gives them the biggest smile.

Carter has become a picky little eater and doesn't like to try new things. His favs are: pb and j, chicken nuggets, hot dog, cheese, peas, juice, milk, ham, carrots, and his all time favorite food is grapes. He will eat grapes non stop.

Carter also is one smart boy. He also talks in full sentences now and loves to tell me about his day or tell Trey what to do. He knows the majority of the alphabet as well but isn't interested in telling you about all the letters he sees like Trey. He can also count to 5. Even though it seems like Trey is the star when it comes to the alphabet and other things, don't let Carter fool you! He knows exactly what Trey does he is just more reserved about showing off unless it is to get something out of you. 

BOTH BOYS: 

Are amazing and I can say that because they are mine and lets face it it's true :) They bring so much joy to not only Cody and I but our family and friends. It is so much fun watching them learn new things each day and watching them become little boys and the best of friends. 

Here's to hoping that we don't go through the terrible twos.... HA yeah right!

We often go walking

well Carter does anyways. The boys started taking their first steps a few weeks ago and then the weekend of their birthday they really started walking. The video is of Carter's first steps and him showing off his walking skills and then Trey being stubborn. Trey can walk we just don't have it on video. I'm hoping this doesn't become a trend where we can't get Trey's accomplishments on camera. We'll keep trying.
