May 24th - Inducement date at 39 weeks
Absolutely LOVED my nurse. She was amazing.
We were schedule for the first inducement slot at American Fork Hospital. We showed up at 7 am with a full nights rest. HA! The day before I got a cold and was miserable and so the night before I got a blessing from Cody and Chris that I would have the energy to deliver and everything would go okay. I don't know why but I was so nervous for this labor. Maybe it was because I knew what was coming. It was a miracle that I actually slept great for the first time in a long time. Cody on the other hand woke up at 3 am and was WIDE awake and couldn't fall back asleep.
I wish I would have gotten one last belly shot. Oops! My nurse did all the initial check in and registration stuff and then did the IV. She asked me when I wanted the epidural and I told her whenever. Sooner than later!
At about 8:30, Dr. Watabe came in and broke my water and then the epidural was put in place followed by the catheter and then the PIT. Everything was finally in place and the PIT was started about 9 am. Then the waiting began. I was already dilated to a 3.5 and 80% effaced. Dr. Watabe predicted I'd have baby girl by lunch time.
At least one of us got a nap. I tried but the dang blood pressure cuff went off every 15 minutes and was so annoying. I'd have to say the worst part of the labor was the blood pressure cuff.
We could see the Timpanogos Temple out our window. How fitting! 6 years ago Cody and I were sealed in that temple.
G&G Webb brought the boys by about 10 am to see us.

The nurse checked me as soon as the boys and G&G left and I was a dilated to a 5. She said to make sure and let her know if I start to feel pressure cause I could go pretty fast at that point. Cody decided to go get something to eat at the cafeteria but didn't make it far. Literally minutes after he left I called him and told him to get back up here asap. I was feeling pressure and strong contractions.
I called the nurse and told her I was feeling pressure and she checked me and I was dilated to a 9 and 100% effaced. Baby was coming. She called the doctor and then the room got busy. 3 more nurses came in and got everything ready. I told the nurse about 5 minutes later that I felt the need to push and she said, "Let's not." She got some gloves on just in case Dr. Watabe didn't make it. Thankfully we saw him coming across the parking lot. You'd think he'd be running not walking!
As soon as Dr. Watabe came in we started to push and after 3 sets of pushing and being cut out came baby girl! They immediately put her on my tummy which was a new experience for me. I didn't get to see or hold the boys for at least 30 minutes after. Cody got to cut the cord and then she was weighed and measured and everyone left. It was weird to be alone so fast. Completely different experience from the boys and delivering in the OR.
Cool side story - As soon as Dr. Watabe told me to do my first push my phone rang and it was my Mom. Cody answered and my Mom said she just felt she needed to call. Amazing! Then right I mean RIGHT after Jaidyn came out my sister Jamie called. Then we found out that Chris said he was walking down the isle at the grocery store and just stopped and felt a feeling of gratitude and he knew Jaidyn was here. He looked at the clock and it was within minutes of her actual birth time of 11:33 am. Amazing! Love the spirit.
What an amazing experience. Words can never describe the feeling of giving birth and how you can see a little baby and have so much love for her. She was so alert after she was born and was a champion nurser. That was a new experience for me too. She didn't want to stop.
After about an hour and a half it was time for Jaidyn to be taken to the nursery.
G&G Webb, Haven and Hayes, and the boys were waiting outside the nursery to see Jaidyn get all cleaned up. Cute story - G&G told the boys that they needed to get back to the hospital becuase baby sister was born and they told them, "Oh baby sister needs me." So cute!
We had lots of visitors but didn't get pics of everyone. Haven & Hayes, Brooke & Shad, Lant, Leia, Annie, and my parents finally arrived that night at 9 pm.

Cody didn't hold Jaidyn very much at the hospital due to feeling so sick. When he did he wore the fun mask.
Oh so lovely. Getting ready to go home. So swollen and tired.
Jaid did awesome in the hospital. She never cried and was so calm. The nurses would take her at night and she'd be gone for 7 hours. It was a little unnerving that she'd go for so long but the nurses didn't seem to worry. I actually enjoyed the hospital time and stayed the whole two days. Cody went fishing on Friday with the boys and Jaid and I just spent time together cuddling and sleeping. It was bliss. Except for when I'd have to get up to go to the bathroom. Recovery is the hardest part.
She was so hard to put in the car seat. She loves to be in a real small ball (haha). I also introduced the binkie and she loved it. What can I say, I'm all for binkies.
We tried really hard to determine who she looked like and we decided she is a good mixture. She has Carter's nose and skin coloring and Trey's mouth. She has dark dark blue eyes and light hair on top and dark hair in the back. I'm hoping her hair stays dark.
So there ya have it. A pretty text book perfect delivery according to my nurse. I couldn't have asked for an easier delivery. I just feel so blessed that Jaid and I were safe during delivery and we are both healthy. What a huge relief.
