As we mentioned in our last post we went to the BYU homecoming football game last weekend. During the game Amanda took a picture of the area where Lant's tickets were. So let's play a little game--Where's Lant? The picture below is her original picture. Can't see him yet? Keep scrolling down.

I thought that it was pretty impressive to be able to have a high enough resolution to zoom in this far from the orginal and still clearly see him from over 150 yards away.

Amanda Gradutwated

Can't believe it's been nearly two weeks since the last post. I guess we were taking a "blog break." Since then, the big news is that Amanda graduated in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from BYU. That's right, our little girl is all grown up (tear, tear, wipe, wipe)!

I am so excited to be able to spend time with my girl without hearing "I have homework." I'm not sure what we are going to do with our free evenings, maybe fly a kite. You think I'm kidding but I'll do it.

Leia graduated this week too. She was Amanda's roommate in the apartments where we met. She has been a good friend ever since. Leia is headed off somewhere to manage a Buckle store. Amanda has several interviews as an accounting clerk this week, but what she really can't wait to be is a mother. We'll see what I can do about that? Any suggestions?

In the picture above is Arianne, one of Amanda's friends through school. I believe they are off to graduate school. Amanda has met and introduced me to some great people through her classes. A lot of them graduated last year and she really misses them.

Last but not least, we were very excited to have Amanda's parents in town. They like to have fun and take us along for the ride. We appreciate all that both our parents and family members do to show their love and support. My mom and dad came up after Haven's softball senior night to go to Ryan Averett's sealing with us, which was very special by the way. After the reception, my parents took us all out to dinner to celebrate graduation. Amanda got to choose where we ate. Where do you think she chose? For those of you who know Amanda you probably said Cafe Rio. Well we had already had that the day before for lunch. For those of you who said P.F. Chang's, you were close too, but we had that for dinner the night before. For the rest of you who have given up by now, the answer is California Pizza Kitchen. I should change her status to now being obsessed with BBQ pizza and salads.

BYU Volleyball Game

The majority of my Saturday was spent right there at that table. I also ran a few miles, did some laundry, washed the car ( and got the oil changed), and cleaned the house up a bit. The normal Saturday routine. Amanda was nearby working on finishing up her classes. She is working like crazy on school work right now. She will graduate in April.

Talon, Annie, and Amanda's game face. The BYU men's volleyball team beat Pepperdine in three games. Talon and I both got freebie shirts. We were pretty pumped. Mine was a girly BYU gymnastics one though...it's now Amanda's.

Freshman Roommate Reunion

Above is a pic of my freshman roommates. We lived in Carol Hall in Heritage Halls on BYU Campus. We had shared rooms and one bathroom for all of us. Talk about hair everywhere. Sunday night was the first time that all 6 of us have been together since the end of freshman year. It was great getting to see everyone in one room and talk about old times. It was also great to get updates on each other's lives and to see how much has changed in the last three years.

Camille is still the amazing go getter while taking full class loads, singing in Noteworthy, staring in plays, and working. She will start student teaching in the winter. Elise is living in Virginia with her husband Joel and adorable little boy Everett. They could not be happier and are enjoying their adventure. Tori is married and is expecting her first child in April and is finally over morning sickness. Emily is happy as usual and continues to make us laugh. She is working on her degree and will graduate next December. Finally, but of course not least, Chelsea is pregnant and moving to Orem to be closer to us and school. Yay.

We all had a blast being with each other again and hope this wasn't the last time. We ate until we were so stuffed with yummy cakes, fruit, guacamole dip, and veggies.

BYU Homecoming

Amanda's parents flew in this weekend for BYU Homecoming. Amanda loves it when we have visitors, especially her parents, because we get to eat out. It's her favorite, favorite, favorite! We picked them up from the airport on Friday and went straight to the BYU Spectacular. Everybody agreed that the BYU Ballroom Dance team was the top performance. I personally liked Supercalifradulisticexpialidocious (hey if you can do better have at it :-).

On Saturday we went to the BYU vs. Airforce game. The coolest part of the whole game was probably the jet the flew over the staduim. Don't get me wrong, I love football, but you just don't get the jet flying over head in your living room. Anyway, that's what's up here, how about there?

Graduation Weekend

We enjoyed the company of our families this weekend for my graduation. The three hour wait proved worthwhile when President Hinckley walked in followed by Elder Scott, Elder Bednar, Sister Tanner and of course the controversial VP Cheney. The crowd went wild. The graduation went better than I expected. The Vice President's speech was well researched. He poked at the BYU culture and advised the graduates to expect the unexpected. My favorite part of the the Marriott Schools commencement exercises was Elder Bednar's words to the graduates. I enjoyed seeing some of my friends from school and hearing their plans. Other activities this weekend included miniature golf, a visit to Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival, movies and food. Good times.
