Christmas in Blanding: Part 3

Christmas Day

Since Christmas was on Sunday we decided to wake up and do stockings and then finish opening presents after Church. The boys woke up about 7 and were so excited. The first thing they asked was, "Did Santa come?". After potty trips and waking up the rest of the siblings we all went downstairs to see what Santa had brought us.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing and eating Christmas dinner together and then later playing games. It was our final day in Blanding as we were all leaving the next day back to Utah County.

We had a great Christmas in Blanding and love being with the Webb Family (and Johnsons). We feel so blessed to have such great families.

We drove home the next day and literally repacked ourselves in time to get on a plane to fly to WA.

Christmas in Blanding: Part 2

Christmas Eve

After a week and a half of G&G Webb to ourselves the rest of the siblings showed up for Christmas. It was great having everyone together. Christmas in the Webb family is full of fun traditions.
Picking a toy off of Great Grandma Webb's Christmas tree and dipping chocolates. I don't normally like chocolates but this year I was in love with them. I couldn't get enough. Must have been due to pregnancy hormones. Don't get me wrong, they are amazing.

Carolling with the Webb Family to deliver the chocolates we dipped

Christmas Eve dinner and party with the Johnson Family.

Trey & Carter were wisemen for the nativity story. They were so excited to give Baby Jesus his gifts

Christmas Eve Jammies - They loved their Lightning McQueen slippers. Trey thinks he's a race car when he wears them and runs around really fast.

Leaving cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Okay this really isn't a Webb tradition but I did this growing up and want my boys to do it.

We put the boys to bed and I think Cody and I were more excited to play Santa this year than actually getting anything. It was fun to stuff their stockings and put out their Santa gifts. Christmas is really different once you have kids. It goes from being excited to open gifts to buying and watching your kids open gifts.

It was so fun watching the boys this Christmas. They actually understood Santa and presents but they also associate Christmas with Baby Jesus. They watched Polar Express about every other day in December and it is probably their favorite movie. They still ask to watch it.

Christmas in Blanding: Part 1

We headed to Blanding about the second week in December for two weeks during our job hiatus. We enjoyed being with family and the boys loved every minute of it.
I normally make Christmas goodies for Cody's coworkers but since he didn't have any the neighbors benefited. Red velvet cake balls, peppermint popcorn, peppermint bark, and gingersnaps.

Blanding got a pretty good snow storm one night and the boys finally got to enjoy their first snow of the season. What is up with Lehi and getting NO snow!
The boys loved throwing snowballs and making a snow castle with G&G
And then knocking it down which meant throwing them at everyone they could. Even poor Reggie got hit.
Look at those baby blues!!
Watch out Grandma!!

We enjoyed other things besides the snow like Bunco night with the Johnsons, movies, popcorn, lots of yummy food, and the boys got to enjoy their first and definitely not last, deer spotting outing.
The boys were so excited to get to go in Grandpa's truck and pee in the bushes like Daddy. Oh the simple joys of kids.

70 Years of Marriage

We took a really quick trip to Blanding one weekend to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of these two love birds! And in love they still are and it's so cute!
Stacey and her siblings threw a party for all of the Johnson family to celebrate. It was so cute to see all the great grandkids running around together. We ate dinner and then the great grandkids sang a few songs for G&G Johnson. My boys obviously didn't know what was going on but they sure looked cute up there.
Then there were impromptu skits about G&G Johnson's life together. It was hilarious! I wish I would have gotten more pictures of it. But when you're nauseated you really don't feel like moving.
Then there was dancing. The boys loved it and danced until they were so tired they couldn't stand it. It was so sweet to see G&G Johnson get up and dance together. They are almost 90 people and they still got up and not only slow danced but fast danced. I sure hope Cody & I can do that.
As much as we hate the drive to Blanding and the throwing up in the car, we do enjoy our quick trips to visit everyone.

Here's a cute video of G&G Johnson dancing.

4th of July Festivities

Yes we are going all the way back to July! I need to stop the blogging laziness!

We spent 4th of July where else but, Surprise! Blanding!  We drove down Friday night which was uneventful, thankfully, and woke up the next morning and headed to the reservoir to ride the jet skis and relax.

Saturday: Pre 4th of July Festivities
Cody having fun with the camera

Brooke & Shad chilaxin
While the big "kids" were at the reservior, G&G took the little ones to the rec center to swim

After swimming we all went to the melodrama. I can't remember the name or the plot of the melodrama but all I do remember is the crazy chicken act, the pink lemonade song, and dumping a whole container of popcorn on Chris! ha

After the play we headed back home and got out some fireworks. Carter was scared of the sparklers but eventually held one with help. Trey on the other hand was so excited and loved it.

I don't get pics with my boys very often! Love my Trey Jay!

Sunday: Chris' 50th Surprise Birthday Party

He had no idea what was coming! Stacey had planned out a family surprise 50th Birthday Party for Chris and I don't know how she did it without him suspecting anything.
And here is some more proof that he was completely surprised. We enjoyed some yummy food and a fun game and after we documented the day with a family photo.
Not the most flattering picture of us. I'm not sure how it got so fuzzy.
Bampa and Carter were having fun together. I know they are kinda blurry but they are soo cute!

4th of July Festivities - Parade

Chris always drives the "City" truck and then joins us later
Trey was so happy when Bampa showed up
Trying to get some candy
4th of July Festivities - Carnival
The boys loved the train even though it might not look like it. It was a hot day and the boys were getting tired. One thing that surprised me was that they wanted to go on the flying rocket ride that goes around and around in the air. I thought it would have been scary for them but they loved it.

4th of July Festivities - Concert & Fireworks

Playing cards while waiting for fireworks
Trey had fun glowing once it got dark
Carter liked chewing on the glow sticks instead of wearing them

Trey of course found his best bud and Grandma tried to sooth Hayes through all the noise
Carter was so tired. He eventually fell asleep during the fireworks

After the finale we got in our car and drove straight through the night and arrived home around 3:30 am! Carter slept the whole way home and Trey slept about half of the way home.

Thanks Chris & Stacey for a fun family weekend. It's always a good time when the Webbs get together!
