I know you've all be trying to wait patiently for our Christmas post so I wont make you wait any longer. Better late than never right!
Christmas was celebrated with my side of the family which began in Sunriver, Oregon and ended in good ol' Chehalis! We flew in the Friday before Christmas and stayed in a hotel that night with my parents and then were off the next morning to Sunriver to meet Jamie, John, and the nephews. We missed Jayson & Vita who weren't able to get away from Alaska! Hopefully they'll be able to come next time.
We rented a nice house in Sunriver for the first 4 days of our Christmas and enjoyed skiing at Mt. Bachelor, sledding, ping pong, family games, good food, the traditional trip to Goody's Candy and Ice Cream Shoppe, and lots and lots of snow. Things we didn't enjoy: Trey being sick the whole time with a gum infection, so much snow it took us twice as long to get to Sunriver, and Trey being sick.
Chehalis was filled with more food, Trey on antibiotics, catching up with old friends, wii, Casa Ramos, bowling, baking, and Christmas festivities. I love going home!
Christmas Eve this year was a little different. We watched some old home videos of past family Christmases which was hilarious!! Afterwords, we read the nativity story from the Bible, sang Happy Birthday to Jesus (Don't ask, it's a Dutch tradition), Ej & Aram played a musical number, and we ended with family prayer and Silent Night.
Christmas morning was great. Especially since we got our first full nights rest of the past week since Trey had been sick. We now joke that Doc (family friend who is a dentist) saved Christmas. The boys loved opening their new train set which went great with their new train table back home. Trey really got into handing out presents and would grab one from the tree and bring it to us. He was our little Santa! Carter just wanted to go nuh night!
The rest of the day was filled with family, food, games, and our Christmas dinner - crab, prime rib, baby red mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, cranberry jello, and pumpkin pie. Delish!
Sorry no pictures because there would be way too many! But we did make a cool video of our trip. I know, surprise surprise! Enjoy!
